Freight Claim
While freight damage to the kiln is not covered under the terms of the warranty, your HotStart kiln is fully insured and Skutt Kilns will help you in processing a UPS claim. To make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible we have developed the following guidelines for submitting a claim.

Do Not Refuse Delivery
This will only slow down the process of the claim. If possible, sign for the package with a note that says “Container Damaged”.

Keep All Packing Material
The UPS inspector will want to see how the kiln was packaged. If there is obvious visible damage to the kiln do not take it out of the box or remove the packaging. If the damage is not discovered until the kiln is removed, try to place it back in the box the way it was originally packed. If the packaging is discarded there is a very good chance the freight claim will be denied.

Be sure to include all of the information. The sooner the freight claim is submitted the better. Therefore we would like to have all claims submited within 5 days.

What Happens Next?
When you submit the form below it will be forwarded to Skutt Kilns. We will then contact UPS and file the claim on your behalf within 2 working days. When we begin processing the claim we will contact you via telephone to schedule the kiln to be picked up and taken to a UPS dispatch facility where it will be inspected, generally within 72 hours. Skutt kilns will schedule a replacement kiln to be sent out upon confirmation that the claim has been approved. Delivery times may vary depending on the current backlog of orders however we will make every effort to send the replacement kiln as soon as possible.
